The most annoying point up front: August 2020, corona pandemic, everyone is happy about cashless payment. Everyone? No, not the community center in Ratingen. The old German (and Yugoslavian) motto still applies here: only cash is true. It's so annoying that this bad habit is still widespread in the hospitality industry. You can't understand it. Can only have something to do with the tax office ....... Drinks: The beer was unfortunately a bit too warm, the ice cube machine was broken, so the non-alcoholic drinks were not really cold either. The food is mostly convenience but at least hot. The "oven-fresh" knuckle on knuckle Thursday is not that bad in terms of taste, the side dishes are ok, but the crust is not crispy but limp, so it is more like pork knuckle. I doubt the "oven freshness" In summary, rather below average.

The location is very nice, the waiters are authentically rustic, so far so good ... The food is anything but good. We're pretty sure we got mostly ready meals. The fries also tasted like old fat.

We were there at 1:10 p.m. for lunch, when we asked at 1:45 p.m. how far our food would be, it was not yet done ... Normally, people who eat lunch break have a lunch menu that is absolutely unsuitable.

Our waiter was very attentive, the orders came very quickly. The coleslaw tasted homemade, the food was good.

The conditions were fine and the food too. The schnitzel was a bit dry and the fries too. So unfortunately had to leave a lot.

I regret visiting this restaurant. Operation is rude and slow. We had to wait about 20 minutes for the order. The food was pure glutamate and overcooked.

We were here in the fall when you could still sit outside. Unfortunately it took a long time before we were able to place an order. This was because apparently only one operator was turned off for the entire outdoor area. We have experienced a very nice service. She did her best and was brisk. For the size of the outdoor area, one person is definitely not enough to serve. The food was delicious and the price-performance ratio was just right.

Good location, regular food very bad attention, problems when charging, I did not accept card payments for less than 50 euros obviously caught us off guard because there was a partner who only had that method of payment, discuss and discuss until you can make the little payment He failed to leave without paying, nothing recommendable from my point of view.

Good food, if nothing is going on in the hall is also very fast. Daily deals good and cheaper. The selection of draft beers could be richer. If you want something you have to make yourself felt otherwise you will easily be forgotten. All in all, good for a cozy and sociable visit.

I went twice. The first day the burger was not really very good meat, they didn’t even ask for the cooking point I wanted. The second day I just ordered a small salad and the waitress didn’t want to make a receipt for me because of that. On top of it they do not accept credit card payment ..in 2019, they said the machine is broken....not very credible...

We came here in a larger group. It’s a really nice traditional German place, an old brewery where you can still notice the old brewing machines, the tools, pipes, huge top copper reservoir, nice xmas decorations and very, very clean and neat environment. The service was very prompt and patient. I asked to change a pork schnitzel with fries and veggies into veal schnitzel with fries and red cooked cabbage (the traditional German one). Almost everyone at the table had some sort of requests (sauce on the side, veggies this and that etc.). The waiter was really patient, nice, polite, “galant” even. The drinks came quickly and the orders took exactly long enough for us to settle in. The deer stew was good. The schnitzels were excellent. I am still planning on coming back to try the Game Gulash (gulash with hunting meat - deer, boar etc.). The deer medallion was a bit too long in spices, retaining a much too strong spice taste. The mixed salad was decent. The deer sauce a but too sweet and maybe too much spices giving a “complicated” taste. I will rate the service 5, the food 3.5-4. A good place to come to on a cold evening or for schnitzel, beer and wine. Adfter factoring the price in as well, I’d say “strongly recommend”.

These gays are cheating. First I order classic burger rear it came more than well done. When I wanted the bill the waiter came with the check from the first photo for 23.60 wrote +20 and 43.60 on the bottom and said I cannot pay with card and the total amount is 43,60 . 23.60 for the food and 20 for the drinks. I ask him what includes this 20 euro and he started writing on the small list from the second photo and explain that hadn’t include the pommes . With my help he at the end calculated that the whole amount was 39.20. Then I asked him to bring me a check for the drinks. Few minutes later I received it (the check from the second photo). I think this happens only to foreigners but Monday I will go to the Tax office in Ratingen and ask do I have the rights to pay with card when It’s written on the door and why I do not receive a check for the drinks.

Popped in for a beer whilst shopping. Have returned everyday of our holiday. Staff fantastic and food excellent. Great atmosphere ìn a wonderful location. Would highly recommend to anyone.

The location couldn't be more central but the service is rather slow.
